I’m not going to lie…we are coming down to the finish line on this one. Are you surprised? No? This week has been incredible though! We are so lucky to be able to participate in this amazing challenge that Linda makes possible. We are working with some of THE BEST brands, and we are happy we get to share them with you AND show you a finished room next week.
The biggest news this week is that we are starting to receive our products that have been generously given in exchange for us sharing with all of you and that we have officially finished with the trim!
Next week I will be going more in depth about each choice that we made…but this week I need every spare hour I can get just to finish! Are you watching our instagram stories?? If not, you missed a gem today. Just in case (and because it’s too good to let disappear) here is Andy after receiving our rugs.com antique rug: (SOUND ON :)
I love him and his love for old things.
SO…as you know, we got our moldings last Thursday from Metrie and they are incredible. We started with the two piece crown like you see above, and then we added:
…a picture hanging rail below (it is used for exactly what you’d think: hanging pictures from) AND THEN, just because we love to be dramatic, we added a fourth piece on the ceiling. It makes for a really nice look and I like to think that it’s just what this 150 year old house wishes it had all along.
After the crown was done, we moved on to the wainscoting:
SORRY FOR THE GROSS IPHONE PHOTOS. IT’S ALL I CAN DO TO FINISH, OK? ;)
Now that this is all in place, we are going to be painting tomorrow…so we’d better pick a color, right? We went back and forth about what color family to use. Since this is our 3 year old’s room I have always had it in my mind to paint in pink. THEN we picked the most incredible wallpapers ever and I very nearly went with navy as the base color. In the end, we decided that since pink is Kit’s favorite color, we were committing to that.
We’ve decided to go with a color called Pink Glamour by Sherwin Williams. And I know all of you are probably thinking, “wow, it’s week 5, Candis. WEEK 5. This should be painted already.” We’ll get there, haha!
Like I mentioned above, we’ve been receiving almost everything that we will sharing, but we haven’t even unboxed everything yet because we’ve been so busy getting the foundation ready! I can’t wait to share everything next week, but in the meantime, I will leave you with this picture of our incredible hardware from Schaub, because they’re maybe the prettiest things ever.
I hope my friends are a little further along than we are! Go say hello!
