Hi guys! Today is a big day, we are finished with one of our favorite projects of all time, the Healing House, and ready for the next family to love and appreciate it! If we are being totally honest, it took a lot longer and a lot more money than we hoped, but in the end all that really matters is that it is ready for it’s next 100 years!
If you follow us on Instagram you have seen some sneak peeks of our “dream home.” I’m not sure it would qualify as a dream home for many, but we are not really normal people. Built in 1907, this over 15,000 sq.ft. school served grades from 1st all the way up to 10th. It is set in a super rural (and perfect) Utah town surrounded by untouched mountains and fields.
Having historic molding recreated can be expensive...although there is certainly a time and place to spend that kind of money, you can usually make a very similar look from off-the-shelf molding!
Make sure to use the right kind of sander when refinishing your floors! It takes a little bit of practice, but a large belt sander works much better than a random orbital!
